RFKC uses the Trust Based Relational Intervention method (TBRI) of child rearing to interact with the campers in a way that actually sparks new connections and restores broken pathways in the brain. By consistently responding with something as basic as love, hope and security, the brain is rewired to include the perspective of love, hope and security.

Whether it is the "Everyone's Birthday Party" that celebrates every camper with a cake and gift, our 4th of July "parade" that encourages patriotism and creativity, or our ladies only tea party and boys only man camp, every event is carefully curated to deliver the message of Christ to the very vulnerable children we serve.

The theme of this year’s camp is

Following New Blue Prints: Construction Zone

It emphasizes the importance of placing our trust in God as the foundation for life; that God’s son, Jesus, is trustworthy, steady and unchanging; and He knows who we are and His plan for our life is GOOD.

THEME VERSE: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Our Bible stories, games, songs, drama and activities all center around this main theme.

Mission

The aim of Royal Family KIDS - Sacramento is to make positive memories; empowering children who've suffered abuse and neglect, by providing one week of focused and positive engagement within a "family" dynamic.

We believe in and are committed to strengthening the foster care community and providing much-needed resources and support to children and families.

Vision

We are a faith based program, responding to the call in James 1:27 "to care for widows and orphans in their distress" and encouraging within each child, the seeds of resiliency, innate value and purpose.

Offering a transformative summer camp experience for children in foster care, ages 7 -  11, our curriculum and activities are based on the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) method to ensure campers feel safe and secure while developing loving connections  at camp.

Values

Safety‍ - Every child deserves to feel safe, and live a life free of neglect, abuse, and violence.

Family - Every child deserves to live in a family that provides basic stability, care, and love.

Rights - Every child deserves dignity. They are human beings with their own individual human rights. They must be allowed to play, learn, develop, and flourish.

‍Future - Every child deserves a life free from oppression, and full of opportunity to make independent and informed decisions to shape a desired future.
